Social Media News You Can Use In May

This week, we’re talking about everything you need to know about content creators, Elon Musk is finally stepping down from Twitter as CEO, and why Lemon8 is becoming more popular with consumers and marketers.

Before you dig-in, you can read more of my writing, like covering my favorite social media tools to use, like GoCharlie.ai. and more deep dives on specific topics on my blog

What You Need To Know About Content Creators

Content creators create assets such as videos, photography, and blogs for brands to use across multiple marketing channels. So, what exactly is the distinction between a content developer and an influencer? Content creators create content for enjoyment and education that often is only published by the brand. In contrast, influencers create content to connect brands with a specific target customer and post on their own channels on behalf of the brand.

At The Motion Agency, content creators are an excellent resource for our Content department, and we've already begun working with them to develop assets for some of our biggest clients for their social media and marketing channels. Content creators allow us to present our clients' brands in an atmosphere that users would most likely identify with, for example during dining hours for a restaurant client, without interrupting the guests currently dining at the restaurant. Content creators are also a less expensive option for full-day content capture with a typical agency team.

Elon Musk is Stepping Down from Twitter

Remember our old pal Elon Musk? Well, if you're like me and were looking forward to when Elon would step down as CEO of Twitter, he recently revealed that he had hired a new CEO. Elon has selected former NBCUniversal executive Linda Yaccarino as Twitter's CEO, who is anticipated to start in six weeks when Musk will step down as CEO.

Musk stated in his announcement tweet that he would shift to "being executive chair & CTO, overseeing product, software, & sysops." Several Tesla investors have expressed worry that Musk was too preoccupied with operating Twitter and that he should devote more time to Tesla.

Lemon8 Is Currently the Fastest-Growing Social Media Platform

In previous weeks, I talked about Lemon8, the social media platform growing rapidly in popularity, especially among Gen Z users. So let's share some more information about the platform. It's focused on short-form videos and photos and has a strong community of users sharing content about fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and other trending topics.

And marketers can reach Lemon8 users like other platforms by creating content relevant to the platform's audience, running ads on the platform, and partnering with influencers. Lemon8 has the potential to reach a large audience of Gen Z users.

While the legal drama surrounds Lemon8's parent company, ByteDance, this platform still feels like it's in the "too early" stage to commit significant resources to launch and maintain a presence.

As always, thanks for reading!
